When I read what you have written, my heart feels so much compassion. You suffered so much for what you knew to be right. You believed in our Savior Jesus Christ, through loss of family and friends, isolation, and so much temptation. I know I would find it hard not to just give up. Yet you perservered. I want to let you know what a difference you have made in my life. Because of your efforts, I have had the opportunity to discover and develop a relationship with my Savior. I know He lives and loves me. I have felt His hand in my life numerous times. This blessing has sprung mostly from having the gospel in my life. Reading my scriptures (more specifically the Book of Mormon), praying, listening to the testimonies of living prophets, and all that this gospel offers have brought me closer to my Savior. Without your effort to bring forth that book, the church I know today may have never existed. The support I recieve through the church comes from my Savior, is my only firm support in life. It is so hard to imagine life without this church. I only can thank you for providing the bridge to so much joy.
P.S.- C.S. Lewis has said that joy is not an object of desire, but gives us the desire that leads to the object ("Suprised by Joy" by C.S. Lewis). That joy experienced when reading the book of mormon, leads all of God's children to be closer to him. Thank you for the part you played in providing that experience. I hope that you can now see the fruits of your labors. Thank for helping bring us all to the fruits of the love of God.
Love,
Tempe
